Global Warming Declares War on Life
Global warming is going to end life on earth.
It's not a hoax, it's very much there in the air.
Now they have started calling it global climate change, denoting that it's not going to be a straight line graph of increasing temperature only but many turbulent ups and downs are going to be seen before it all ends up in the heat death for life that will have killed itself of its own follies.Whatever the name but the phenomenon is globally fatal for life, not only the human life alone but life on earth as such.
And it's we humans who have done it to the planet.
In our craze to go richer and richer, we have in fact gone intimidating the ecological balance in a fatally dangerous way.
The bug of success has done this to us!
Ultimately the nature could no more hold the atmospheric conditions favorable to the organic life and has started breaking down upon us in the name and style of global warming.
This is the first summer in 2008 that has given me a shudder down my spine as it was not there at all; and what was there, was the monsoons advanced full two months earlier than their scheduled arrival in the Indian Peninsula, simply as a precursor of the global warming coming.
It swayed the total cotton seeds in the fields along even before they could turn into the crop.
So, no cotton this year to export, one of the biggest exports that India had in its business arsenal till now!
Not only this, the entire African mainland had not been able to stop the maize crop from getting ruined in the fields only in the hands of the global warming effects; and the population is in a fix as to what to eat this year.
The climate ultimately has declared the long-awaited war on us in the name of global warming to teach us a lesson perhaps, and this we have to face whether we like it or not.But should we not ask at least now to our own selves why after all we did it to us?
We wanted to grow higher than the sky, we wanted to run faster than the time!
We wanted to be richer than God!
The very concept of richness is corrupt, I say. Whenever one turns rich, it is always at the cost of turning someone else poor on her/his behalf.
Individually we do not turn rich by increasing the GDP every time. In fact it's rarely so.
So we do turn someone or the other poor whenever we turn rich, since the total money in human use is more or less constant unless the GDP increases along.
It's as simple mathematics as that!
Collectively the total humanity has been doing exactly that too!
In our endeavor to turn rich we took from the nature much more than we gave back to it.
We thought it was our profit.
We were very happy that we had gone so rich on our planet, and we didn't know we were raping it all along.
We couldn't have kept doing it for long.
And we are fighting a war now that we are bound to lose in the hands of the mighty global warming.
Can something still be done to avoid the worsening situation or not?
Can we immediately do away with the concept of richness as the only quality of life? Can we immediately come to realize that it is richness only that gives birth to its counterpart that we know as poverty?
Can we stop holding the richness so tight in our clutches and give it back to the nature at a collective level by slowing down the pace at which we are going on manufacturing our 'buy one get one free's at a maddening level on this planet?Can we also stop holding the money that turns us rich individually in our hands or in our banks and spend it all so that it immediately comes into circulation creating new opportunities for the ones who had missed the train of owning it when it had very first steamed off on earth?
So, our slogan should be to spend as much and as soon as we earn so that the money gets liberated from our tight clutches the moment we have earned it... and in the process it will have given us the profit - monetarily when we earned it and experientially when we spent.
More spending will mean a bigger experiential profit and an easier flow of the human money among all its members. Nobody will be doomed to have missed her/his train then!
We will stop being the termite that has got stuck to the planet inviting its own demise along with the Gaia's in the hands of global warming!
Humanity must learn how to spend and give back to the nature what we earned from it, and how to give it back immediately.
